Hollywood Music Workshop

Bringing Hollywood to Austria

During the years of 2012 to 2015, I was a technical assistant for the Hollywood Music Workshop, which is one of the biggest film music workshops in the world. It was an extremely interesting, exciting as well as exhausting time of my life. I learnt a lot about what it means to do hard work and I'm glad to have had the experience of collaborating with people from around the world, including some of the best film music composers of our time, like Conrad Pope and Christopher Young.

My responsibilities at HMW included:

In 2015, the Hollywood Music Workshop, in collaboration with Varese Sarabande, organized a film music concert titled "Hollywood Love Stories". I was responsible for the projections that were to be shown during the show on two large screens. I was also heavily involved in the overall preparation of the concert, including PR work as well as the administration and preperation of the scores for the concert.

Furthermore, I designed a program booklet as well as invitations for the concert. This was a special challenge, since I had to work with assets (imagery, fonts, colours,...), which were very poorly chosen and required a lot of re-consideration. As an example, I had to completely rework the font that was chosen for the project, as it did not have sufficient character support as well as being way too thin to ensure legibility.

Overall, the workshop proved to be an amazing experience for which I'll always be thankful. For more information on the Hollywood Music Workshop, visit its website.
